A: One of my biggest personal challenges was undergoing fertility treatments to have my children. It was one of the most stressful times in my life, both emotionally and physically. The process felt like a whirlwind of hormone injections, doctor appointments, waiting, hoping, and often feeling defeated. At times, I didn%u2019t know if it would all work out, and the stress weighed heavily on me.Physically, the treatments took a toll on my body, leading to hormonal imbalances, weight fluctuations, hospital stays, and moments when I barely recognized myself. I even went through periods of body dysmorphia, feeling disconnected from my own body and its changes. It was incredibly hard to cope with the physical and emotional toll simultaneously, especially while trying to stay %u201chealthy%u201d and %u201cfit%u201d amid all the uncertainties. But that experience taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, self-compassion, and how wellness is not about perfection%u2014it%u2019s about being gentle with ourselves, especially when facing challenges beyond our control. I realized how vital it was to seek emotional support and care for myself beyond the physical. This understanding is something I bring into my work with clients every day.Navigating midlife changes has been another major challenge. In my 40s and 50s, I started feeling the effects of a slowing metabolism and hormonal shifts. I had to prioritize strength, bone health, and a balanced approach that acknowledged what my body needed, not just what I thought it %u201cshould%u201d look like. It was humbling to realize that what once worked for me no longer did, requiring me to adapt and adjust. These experiences have shaped who I am as a coach, woman, and mother. They remind me why I do what I do and inspire me to help other women feel empowered to find their own paths to wellness. I want them to know they%u2019re not alone and that wellness is a journey we%u2019re all worthy of. Q: How has being a mother influenced your approach to health and wellness?A: Being a mother has completely transformed my approach to health and wellness. When I look at my kids, I see the legacy of the choices I make, and I want to be a role model in every sense.MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 62 39
