MOST Magazine was honored to get the chance to sit down with Sol Romero in an exclusive interview to find out more about her upcoming projects.Photographer:MIT MELISSASol Romero is an actress and international recording artist from Mexico City. She%u2019s appeared in such films as %u201cCasino Royale%u201d (Daniel Craig), %u201cThe Legend of Zorro%u201d (Antonio Banderas), %u201cEdge of Darkness%u201d (Mel Gibson), and most recently %u201cMemory%u201d (Liam Neeson, 2022). Sol became an instant sensation in Switzerland when she released her hit single %u201cTurn It Up%u201d in 2015 which shot straight into the top ten on the Swiss music charts, followed immediately with the release of %u201cMoney Makes the World Go Round%u201d featuring renowned Moroccan-American rapper French Montana, who also appeared in the video.Born in Mexico City, and of Mexican and Swiss descent, Sol began singing when she was 13. But when her family moved to the Mexican town of San Miguel de Allende is where she had her first brush with the entertainment industry when she fortuitously found her way onto the set of the Robert Rodriguez film %u201cOnce Upon a Time in Mexico.%u201d The budding actress wound up working on the film as a camera double for Eva Mendez, one of the film%u2019s stars. Sol decided to pursue the career and went on to study acting at the world-famous RADA Academy in London.Sol%u2019s debut onto the music scene came in 2011 with the release of her first single and video %u201cBiPolar Love%u201d from her premiere album %u201cDark Fantasy.%u201d The album was released independently to great success, along with a second video shot in Switzerland for the song %u201cY Did You Leave.%u201d In 2015 she released the chart-topping single %u201cTurn It Up%u201d and %u201cMoney Makes the world Go Round,%u201d and in 2016 released the full-length album of the same title, %u201cTurn It Up.%u201dSol resides between Los Angeles and Switzerland with her husband of 16 years, director Martin Campbell, known for his work on the %u201cCasino Royale%u201d and %u201cThe Mask of Zorro%u201d films.
