This is especially true for your children. Make them have to work for it a bit and not just have it in the cabinets for easy access.- You don%u2019t have to necessarily have complete meals prepared, but have your healthy proteins already ready. This will allow you to make your meals faster when you are REALLY hungry and then you won%u2019t grab for those convenience foods.- Step away from Facebook for your information on healthy eating and start reading. My three favorite books that have changed my life are:%u201cThe End of Overeating%u201d by Kessler %u201cCoconut Oil Miracle%u201d by Fife%u201cIntuitive Eating%u201d by Tribole- When in doubt eat real food. Step away from packaged foods. They are not the necessary evil that the manufacturers want you to believe they are. Diets don%u2019t work. People will lose weight on a diet but will typically gain it back. Adopt a healthy lifestyle instead. Eat healthy foods because you know that it will prevent heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and other diseases; weight loss will be a new side effect of your new lifestyle.- Recipes are time consuming and difficult to control the balance of nutrients that you consume. One recipe may call for too much fat and another may call for too much protein. Start eating whole foods in their purest form and then add a little salsa, guacamole, or Himalayan sea salt to it.- People are so obsessed with calorie counting and what we know about nutrition today is that health has less to do with calories in and calories out and more to do with the quality of those calories. For instance a snack pack might only have 200 calories, but our bodies utilize it as well as 1 cup of quinoa that has about the same amount of calories.
