14 || FITNESS MAGAZINE || APRIL / MAY 2015FMM: What do you believe makes a perfect fitness model?JG: Besides the obvious-being fit, I need a model to be powerful in the eyes. They need to work hard, yet be comfortable and easy going.FMM: What kind of tools do you use for post processing? Explain your work flow.JG: I use Adobe Bridge to sort through and organize my photos. I then do all of my post-work in Camera Raw and Photoshop CC2014.FMM: You have an amazing way of making your subject stand out in the image. Is it your lighting or the post production or both?JG: It%u2019s absolutely both. I can%u2019t bring out drama in post if the lighting wasn%u2019t just right. I%u2019m very meticulous with my lighting because I know what I can bring out later in post. The two combined together make photos come alive!FMM: Do you prefer color vs BW and why?JG: I really have no preference. I think each photo calls out to be either color or BW. I do love the power of BW though and feel they tend to be the most dramatic, but just not every photo is meant to be in BW.FMM: You also paint-tell us about your painting and what is your motivation?JG: I always sucked at drawing and painting%u2026BAD. There was just something in me that wanted to figure it out. So I did, and I was absolutely shocked and thrilled to death. It%u2019s been one of the most enlightening and exciting experiences for me. It%u2019s a lot of fun creating something with hands on materials (oil and canvas) as opposed to the digital process. I feel every ten years I do a creative shift and it%u2019s been ten years since I started photography. Painting and video have been my new outlets, outside of photography of course.FMM: How can MOST readers find you? Website, blog, facebook, etc.JG: www.justingrantphotography.com (blog link is on my site), facebook/justingrantphoto & justingrantphotography, Instagram: justingrantphoto
