I like natural light, but it usually requires a kick with a little flash or large scrims, etc.FMM: You are a self-taught photographer-how difficult was it to learn the skills on your own. What style of photography did you start with (fashion, portrait, fitness, etc)?JG: I feel I%u2019m always growing and learning and have certainly not perfected the trade. However, I feel the beginning stages of learning came quickly for me. I worked my ass off, shot often, and experimented with reverse engineering until I felt I had the knack of a certain style dialed in. I started mostly with fashion and portraits, and I became interested in fitness photography a few years into it.FMM: How would you describe your style?JG: I like to describe my style as anything dramatic. I hope my images are viewed as powerful. I want people to wonder how the hell it was made.FMM: Whose work has influenced you the most?JG: Honestly, I don%u2019t follow names. I see work all over the internet and in magazines that inspires me, but I couldn%u2019t tell you who shot it. I feel like following photographers makes me feel envious and less productive, but I%u2019m definitely inspired by the work of so many great artists out there. >>>
