MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 73 41MOSTMAGAZINEMOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 75Q: WHAT FIRST INSPIRED YOU TO PICK UP A CAMERA, AND HOW DID YOUR JOURNEY INTO PHOTOGRAPHY BEGIN?A: I%u2019ve always had a keen interest in bringing my visions to life. It got to the point where I really wanted to explore how to do it, and I remembered there was a camera sitting in my closet. I had no idea how to work it or what I was doing, but I knew I wanted to try. Once I turned that camera on, I never looked back. Q: YOUR PORTFOLIO SPANS MULTIPLE GENRES, FROM PORTRAITURE TO AUTOMOTIVE AND BEAUTY PHOTOGRAPHY. DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE, OR DO THEY EACH BRING SOMETHING UNIQUE TO YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS?A: I actually started getting paid jobs in product photography first, then my clientele shifted to portraiture work. Once I started doing portraits, I knew that%u2019s where I wanted to go. With portraiture, I could bring the ideas I had in my mind to reality. Q: YOUR WORK IS OFTEN DESCRIBED AS %u201cCINEMATIC, EDGY, AND INSPIRING.%u201d HOW DO YOU ACHIEVE THAT SIGNATURE STYLE?A: To be honest, there%u2019s not one key thing I do to create the look of my images%u2014it%u2019s just who I am as an artist and photographer. I grew up in love with cinema and television. Movie posters were everything to me and still are. I%u2019m heavily influenced by movies%u2014I love the lighting, camera angles, and composition. I love the looks that people deliver on camera, and I damn near jump out of my skin when I actually capture that shot. It%u2019s everything! Q: YOU%u2019VE WORKED WITH SOME HIGH-PROFILE INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING OLYMPIC ATHLETES AND NFL CHAMPIONS. HOW DO YOU APPROACH CAPTURING THEIR ENERGY AND PERSONALITY IN YOUR IMAGES?A: Yeah, I%u2019ve been super lucky so far in my career. Getting the opportunity to photograph pro athletes is definitely a highlight for me. My approach is pretty simple: capture them in their element. Take Gabby Scott, for example. She recently competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics. I%u2019ve photographed her twice%u2014once on a track in uniform, where I really wanted to capture her in the essence of track and field. The second time, we did more of a glamour sports shoot, and that ended up being one of my favorite shoots to date.MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 75
