Q: Describe a time when you had to work with a limited budget. How did you maximize the resources available to you?Making a short film %u201cPaPa%u201d was my first project and a turning point for me. Back then, I had only $1,000 from my motorcycle%u2019s mortgage. I used it to create a three-minute film. I spent that money wisely, finding volunteers like my sister (the main actor), her friends (supporting actors), and my mother (who prepared food for the team). We rented equipment, negotiated 50% discounts, and even rented a TukTuk for transportation. Looking back, it was a time of unity, hope, and the belief that anything was achievable. Despite having no staff and very little capital, that $1,000 kickstarted SASTRA Film, leading to where we are today.Q: What does women%u2019s empowerment mean to you?To me, women%u2019s empowerment means providing women with the opportunity to pursue their true dreams, but not dictating what they should or shouldn%u2019t do.Q: What are you most proud of in your career so far?My greatest pride lies in achieving my dreams, not only for myself but also for others. My love for movies runs deep, and I%u2019ve witnessed countless talented individuals who share this passion but often lack opportunities. Now, at SASTRA Film, I see the remarkable achievements of young talents in this field, and it fills me with immense joy.Q: What is the change that you strive for in women%u2019s rights?Despite progress in women%u2019s rights and gender equality, some men still feel uncomfortable with women in leadership roles, especially in the film industry. As a woman in this field, I%u2019ve worked to change that mindset by demonstrating that women are fully capable of excelling.Q: What is your target audience? My target audience encompasses individuals of all ages and genders, regardless of their sexual orientation, with a particular focus on those who enjoy movies for both entertainment as well as their educational and inspirational elements.Q: What projects are you working on currently?Currently, we%u2019re engaged in various projects including TV dramas, feature films, and the development of the app series. Notably, Z-Mom stands as our largest undertaking, involving hundreds of actors and crew members.Q: Where do you see yourself in five years? In the next five years, I aspire to become an international businesswoman and film producer, contributing to humanity through impactful movies beyond my current achievements.www.nimolbunchan.comInstagram - @nimol_bunchanNimol BunchanMOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 41 83
