www.MOSTmag.com || MOST FITNESS || 77very well, with a new family, and he%u2019s been featured in all AFD photo projects! He%u2019s just as cute as a button, and his name is Pomi! Another very special rescue was of this other old, wounded female dog; she was also on the Euth list, and I knew she was going to die if I wasn%u2019t going to save her. I was able to rescue her with the help of another rescue team, and two days later I got her adopted to a loving and perfect home. Now three years later, she%u2019s the happiest dog on earth, super healthy, and she is going to be on the Amore for Dogs new 2016 Postcards collection. She%u2019s already been in a lot of our ads for different magazines; her name is Gracie, and she%u2019s just an adorable, very sweet dog. MFM: After calendars, do you have any other plans for the foundation in the works? What do you hope to do with it in the future or what are the other photo projects?VSF: We are always going to develop some kind of photo project, as modeling is such a passion for me, and now with the dogs it is so fun and creative. So I plan a photo shoot at least once a month for the dogs, and right now I have just finished my first collection of postcards, which includes photos of all the dogs I have rescued in the past year and my dogs, plus some other dogs I have helped sponsor with their medical bills. In this first collection, a few photos include me as well, but the rest are mostly all dogs. There are about 25 to 30 picture postcards-very, very cute and fun! I am hoping that AFD grows bigger and bigger each year, and maybe one day I%u2019ll be able to open a dog safe haven somewhere, where many dogs can be saved, rehabilitated, and kept there until adopted by good loving families. I envision a beautiful place out in nature where people could go and visit and spend the day, meet their future pets, play with them, and really get to see and enjoy them before they make the final decision to take them into their home.MFM: What is something that dog owners can do when they adopt a rescue dog in order to assimilate it into a loving family and help it get over any trauma?VSF: When you first bring home a rescue dog, introduce him slowly to each member of the family. Don%u2019t overwhelm him immediately. Once he has sniffed each person and has been greeted by all members of the family, slowly introduce him one at a time to any other pet in the family. Let them sniff each other and get to know each other. Be sure to give your new rescue dog his own toys and his own place to sleep. The most important way to help your new rescue dog become part of your family is to give him plenty of love. You%u2019ll be amazed at Photo Credit: Alex ArdentiPhoto Credit: Brett Seeley
