One or two photos were shot in my garage and in my back yard and then had to be edited with a different background. It is amazing some of the things you can do now with Photoshop; you can be so creative, add things, and turn a photo into a magical scene. Choosing outfits for me and the dogs was a lot of fun to do also, especially for the laundry room shot for March 2015; I had always wanted to do a photo with a lot of dogs wearing Pajamas! And in the February 2015 shot I had a huge cupcake made for the photo shoot to match our red Valentine dresses. It was a very, very cute idea :) MFM: With so many dogs in each photo, there must be some funny things that happened. Tell us a funny/crazy story that happened on one of your shoots with so many dogs.VSF: The January 2016 shot was pretty challenging-the two dogs were pretty strong and did not like to pose and stay still at all so they were pulling me like crazy, and I was wearing a tight dress in high heels. I had to use all of my strength to keep them close to me and smile for the camera and look relaxed at the same time. Nothing crazy really happened though, and the dogs were all pretty well behaved. My own dogs shoot all the time, and they even know the camera, and when I get my make-up done they know it is photo shoot time! A kind of funny thing happened in a few of the shots-Soul which is the Bichon, wanted to sleep all the time, so we had to constantly pull her up and wake her up; all she wanted to do is go to sleep.MFM: You say on the website that soon you will have homeless dogs and potential owners will be able to apply for adoption-will that be through a specific shelter or how will that work?VSF: Occasionally we%u2019ll have local dogs available for adoption. However, we have primarily been working with Waggin%u2019 Trails Rescue Foundation. Waggin%u2019 Trails rescues and finds local homes, or transports companion animals in danger of imminent death in overcrowded California shelters, to safety. Waggin%u2019 Trails has volunteers throughout the State that assist in rescuing, vetting, fostering, and transporting abused and neglected animals to like-minded partner rescues (no-kill shelters) and humane societies, in neighboring states and western Canada.MFM: Tell us about one of the dogs that your foundation rescued and their story.VSF: My very first dog I rescued was a little Pomeranian. I saw his photo on Facebook and found out what shelter he was at, and the next day I drove 40 miles, cancelled all of my appointments of the day, and went to save him. He was on the Euth list (euthanasia list). He%u2019s now doing Photo Credit: Alexis Vogel/Mays Photo Credit: George Kontaxis
