MFM: What are your favorite camera/lens combinations?TG: I prefer the 16-35 mm and a full-frame camera, or the 24-70 mm for coverage. This is a go-to lens for action shooting.MFM: What was the most memorable challenge while attending the Rochester Institute of Technology? TG: Both the cold weather and going to college as a husband and working father of two were challenging at that time. It would not have been possible without the support of my awesome wife.MFM: Your editorial sets tell stories. Do you plan them in advance or do they come naturally to you on the set?TG: I always come to the set/location with research (know my subject, location, story) and a plan. However, sometimes I have to reassess that plan per the various changing details or location of the event. I can fall back on the research. Some compositions I have thumb nailed; therefore, I still have the basic components of the story, and the details just provide the seasoning.
