Not very chill of me, but it%u2019s crazy that they even know who I am. R&B IS CONSTANTLY EVOLVING%u2014HOW DO YOU SEE YOUR MUSIC FITTING INTO THE GENRE%u2019S FUTURE?My focus isn%u2019t on fitting into the future of the genre%u2014I just want to stay authentic to myself, no matter where music trends go. That being said, I have such a deep love for R&B that I think it%u2019s impossible to separate myself from it completely. No matter how my sound evolves, that foundation will always be there. It came out of me in 20 minutes, but it was born from my most painful time. That was my darkest period, and I see that song as the moment I was finally honest with myself%u2014about the romantic relationship I was in and, more importantly, the relationship I was having with myself.
