Q: Can you take us back to the beginning? What sparked your interest in photography?A: My interest in photography began in an unexpected and somewhat controversial way. I received my first camera%u2014a Polaroid%u2014as a gift when I was around 8 or 9 years old. I found it magical how it could freeze time and preserve memories. Later, I experimented with disposable cameras, which were more economical. At around 12 years old, I purchased my very first compact film camera. I eagerly took some family photos, but by the end of the day, I was hospitalized with an appendicitis attack. Being a superstitious child, I blamed the camera and decided never to take photos again. After a 15-year hiatus, the desire to photograph never truly left me, and my superstitions had faded considerably. I bought a new camera, joined a small photography club, and started attending evening classes in fine arts photography. That%u2019s when my passion reignited, and I haven%u2019t looked back since.MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 66 29
