Q: What was it like to compete for the first time and win? How did that experience shape your future goals?A. I loved being on stage for the first time, even though I was super nervous. Winning was absolutely shocking%u2014I never thought I%u2019d win in a million years. Even though it was just a state-level show, it felt incredible. My second show was a national competition, which humbled me. I placed in two of the three divisions I competed in, which showed me how much higher the stakes are at that level. At my third competition, which was a pro card show, I placed third. That result was amazing and gave me even more motivation to push forward.Q: Your next goal is to earn your pro card. What are the biggest challenges you%u2019re facing in working toward that achievement?A. Yes, earning my pro card is my next goal. My biggest challenge is coming in leaner and harder while adding more volume to my shoulders and better definition to my hamstrings. Thankfully, I%u2019m in good shape overall, so these are minor adjustments. However, at 41, I have to approach things carefully to stay healthy and controlled in my training.MOSTMAGAZINEPhotography by GEORGE KONTAXIS56 MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 63
