Q: Kat, your fitness journey began after a significant life event. Can you share how the passing of your husband in 2018 motivated you to turn to fitness as a source of strength?A. I needed something to focus on that made me feel good. When I was in the gym, I was only thinking about the workout itself, which helped keep my mind off the loss of my husband, even if just for a short time each day. After training, I would feel a sense of euphoria from the endorphin rush, and that felt good. Sometimes, it was the only time I felt good all day. I started to crave that feeling and continued to go.Q: By 2020, bodybuilding became a major part of your life. What drew you into this world, and how did it become more than just a hobby for you?A. Seeing competitors on Instagram was actually the catalyst for my bodybuilding journey. At first, I just wanted to look like them%u2014they looked beautiful and strong! I started diving deep into research, learning as much as I could about bodybuilding. I also began listening to bodybuilding podcasts and educating myself about the sport and industry. The more I learned, the more interested I became, and I decided I wanted to give it a try!Hiking, walking along the beach, or just enjoying the sun rejuvenates me.
