Before bodybuilding, I had a poor perception of what I thought was healthy%u2014worrying about calories, fat, and crash diets. Now, I understand that food should not be feared but understood. When your diet is optimized for muscle growth, it enables you to perform better in the gym and recover faster, which leads to quicker progress. A balanced nutrition plan is the cornerstone of successful bodybuilding.Q: You%u2019ve mentioned being %u201chooked%u201d on the discipline and challenge of bodybuilding. In bodybuilding, you are constantly competing with yourself. I am always striving to improve with each show and season. For me, bodybuilding is more than just a physical activity%u2014it%u2019s a way to challenge myself and become a better version of who I am.Q: You%u2019re now focused on earning your IFBB pro card. What does that goal represent for you, and what steps are you taking to reach that next level?A: Earning my IFBB Pro Card is a significant goal because it validates a competitor as one of the best. It requires pushing your training to the next level to compete professionally. There%u2019s a reason why they are so highly sought after. I am very competitive, and this goal drives me to keep improving. I love competing and can only imagine how exhilarating it would be to one day stand on the same stage as the IFBB Pros who have inspired me since I started. I have a great coach who is working hard with me to achieve this goal. Q: Bodybuilding is known for its rigorous training and diet plans. How do you stay mentally strong and committed during prep, especially when things get tough?A: This is a tough one because I genuinely love every aspect of prep, even the hard days, lol. The challenging moments show me just how strong and badass I am! It can be difficult when people don%u2019t understand bodybuilding. However, I%u2019m more than happy to join in with my own food in tow. I%u2019m incredibly blessed to have the support of my husband, Jeremy, and my two sons, Adam and Liam%u2014I couldn%u2019t do any of this without them!MOSTMAGAZINEMOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 63 17
