Q: How did growing up in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, influence your photography style?A: Barceloneta is located in the rural area of northern Puerto Rico, surrounded by beaches and nature. Growing up in this environment has been one of the biggest influences on my photography style. Thanks to my upbringing surrounded by nature, I enjoy blending fashion photography with landscapes.Q: What was it about journalism that initially drew you in, and how did it lead to your love of photography?A: Both journalism and photography are powerful communication tools. With both, you can inform, inspire, and change the lives of those who engage with them. That%u2019s what motivated me to study journalism, and eventually led me to fall in love with photography.Q: Can you describe the moment when you realized photography was your true passion?A: The moment I picked up a camera and had someone in front of my lens for the first time in 2005, I knew that photography was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.Q: What are some key differences you%u2019ve noticed in fashion photography between Puerto Rico, the U.S., and Asia?A: Cultural differences influence everything when it comes to fashion and photography. Puerto Rico%u2019s warm climate affects fashion editorials, where you%u2019ll often see light clothing, vibrant colors, and contrasts.
