Boban views the metal spoons that compose his sculptures as tools with which one many also use to feed their own soul. Beyond what is represented in his artistic creations, the physical materials used further promote the ideology Boban wishes to present to his audience: a deeper dimension of reality that relates to humans globally as a worldly representation of nourishment, and thus, human existence.Born in 1963, in the Serbian town of Nis, Boban Ili%u0107%u2019s artistic career began at the esteemed Belgrade Academy of Applied Arts. He graduated in 1988 after completing the five-year sculpting program under the close guidance of Rector and professor, Nandor Glid, best known for his harrowing Dachau memorial sculpture. In 1991, at the outbreak of the Yugoslav Wars and after numerous exhibitions throughout Europe, Boban immigrated to the United States.Master SculptorBOBAN
