On film she played the female leading role in Mao%u2019s Last Dancer and had a scene opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in J. Edgar. Most recently, Amanda played recurring character, Katrina Bennett, on USA%u2019s fan favorite show, Suits. Of which she slyly tells us Suit%u2019s fans, %u201cRegarding Katrina Bennett %u2013 I don%u2019t think you have seen the last of her%u2026%u201d For young dancers looking to emulate Amanda%u2019s amazing career, she offers this advice,I think if a young dancer decides to pursue acting or dancing for film, they should remember that hard work and dedication really do go a long way. Get yourself into an acting class or two, and approach your next career with the same control and focus you did with dance.%u201d The hard-working star still manages to find time to relax, decompress, and be inspired. Amanda loves to go walking and hiking with her dog, take ballet regularly, %u201cwhich is a very cathartic form of relaxation and stress-relief for me,%u201d and enjoys life as a foodie. %u201cI am always trying out new recipes and making meals for my family and friends. I love food, and I love to find new ingredients and learn about local flavors. In every new city or town I shoot, I find the local farmers market and buy great local dishes and produce.%u201d Amanda reveals she finds inspiration everywhere, %u201cSometimes in the most unexpected places: music, art, architecture, nature, people, and especially dance, inspire me. I am also inspired on a daily basis by watching my fellow actors. I feel motivated when I read a great script, and I think, %u201cI can%u2019t wait to work on that character!%u201d I also get motivated to work on projects through frustration. If I feel disappointed in my work, or myself it triggers me to do better with my next opportunity.%u201d And she dishes that her burning desires are in %u201cgetting to work on great characters with great people. I look forward to every new role I get, discovering things about the character, and incorporating ideas from directors and creators.%u201d Energetic, self-disciplined, and motivated-a director%u2019s dream!manda tells us that in the future, %u201cOne thing I really would like to do would be to work on Broadway sometime in my life. I love the energy of a live audience, and I think the magic and the history of playing on Broadway would be thrilling.%u201d It is no doubt that Amanda will light up the stage one day, and for now we can look forward to seeing her in a lead role starting in January.
