Q: What advice would you give to young designers just starting out and hoping to make it in the industry?I f you%u2019re just starting out as a young designer, my advice would be to stay true to yourself and your unique vision. The fashion industry can be competitive and ever-changing, but it%u2019s important to stay authentic and create designs that truly reflect your style and passion. Don%u2019t be afraid to take risks and most importantly, never give up! Believe in your talent and keep pushing forward, even in the face of challenges.Q: How do you think fashion can be used to communicate a message or make a statement?Fashion is a powerful tool for self-expression and making a statement. It allows us to showcase our individuality and communicate messages without saying a word. Through design choices, colors, patterns, and styles, fashion can convey various messages and emotions. Fashion has the power to make a statement and influence society by celebrating diversity, and promoting important messages. It%u2019s a beautiful way to express ourselves and contribute to a larger conversation.Q: How would you define your idea of fashion?To me, fashion is all about self-expression and creativity. It%u2019s a way to showcase your unique style and personality through clothing. Fashion allows you to experiment with different looks, mix and match pieces, and create outfits that make you feel confident and empowered. It%u2019s not just about following trends, but about curating creations that reflect who you are and how you want to be perceived.Q: What do you believe are the essential elements needed to be successful as a fashion designer?I think there are several essential elements to be successful as a fashion designer. First and foremost, having a strong sense of creativity and a unique vision is crucial. It%u2019s important to be able to think outside the box and push boundaries with your designs. Alongside creativity, having a solid foundation of technical skills is essential. Understanding garment construction, fabric properties, and various techniques will help you bring your ideas to life. Additionally, staying informed about current trends and industry developments is important to stay relevant and innovative. Lastly, perseverance and a strong work ethic are key. The fashion industry can be demanding and competitive, so being dedicated, resilient, and willing to put in the hard work is essential for success. Remember, success may look different for each designer, so stay true toyourself and your unique journey.Q: Do you prefer traditional illustrating styles or newer digital mediums?! actually love both traditional illustrating and newer digital mediums for different reasons! Traditional illustrating has a certain charm and authenticity to it. I enjoy the experience of working with physical materials like pencils, paints, and brushes. It allows me to feel more connected to the artwork and the creative process. On the other hand, digital mediums offer a whole new world of possibilities. They provide convenience, versatility, and the ability to experiment and make changes easily. Digital tools allow for precise detailing, vibrant colors, and the ability to work quickly. Plus, it%u2019s amazing how technology has made it possible to create stunning digital illustrations that can be easily shared and reproduced. So, I appreciate both traditional and digital mediums for their unique qualities. It%u2019s all about choosing the rightmedium for the specific project and enjoying the creative journey!Q: Are your designs influenced by the colors and trends of the season?As a fashion designer, I find inspiration in the colors and trends of the season. It%u2019s exciting to see how the fashion industry evolves and embraces new color palettes and styles each season. However, I also believe in maintaining my own unique artistic vision and adding personal touches to create designs that are timeless and reflect my individual style.
