While her mother instilled the importance of practicing, %u201cMy discipline and work ethic come from them and they also gave me the gift of independence.%u201d What must it have been like to encourage your fourteen-year-old daughter to go to New York and pursue her dreams? %u201cWhat belief they must have had in me.%u201dThe actor counts herself blessed, having started her career at a young age. %u201cI never had to make that terrifying leap after college because I already had an agent.%u201d Humbled, she remarks, %u201cit is still a tough business%u2026every audition requires courage, and you never know what is going to happen.%u201d In 1989, after her Into the Woods run, the actor was cast as Tia Russell in the cult classic, Uncle Buck. This timeless film, about a lovable bachelor slob, played by the late Mr. John Candy, would be the first experience with film and television for the starlet. %u201cIt was like being shot out of a cannon,%u201d the actress states.
