36 || FITNESS MAGAZINE || JUNE 2015 || EDITION 1Autumn is especially passionate about working with kids after her struggle as a preteen, often being picked on for being chubby, she says, %u201cThere are so many misconceptions out there about what healthy is; I wanted to be able to teach people, show them that it does not have to be complicated.%u201d We spent time getting to know the fitness expert and hearing of the steps she took to become just that. Autumn grew up in a small Italian neighborhood with a large Italian family. With her brother Bobby and sister Calie, home life was sometimes crazy. Their father owned an Italian restaurant most of her childhood, named Bobby Cal%u2019s, where one could find homemade food made from family recipes. %u201cI think watching my dad in the restaurant all those years is where my entrepreneurial spirit came from,%u201d she recalls. Her dad always told them as kids, %u201cIf you do something you love, you will never work a day in your life.%u201d Their father instilled a strong work ethic and a value of respect in his children from an early age. He did this by putting them all to work at the restaurant: sometimes it was as simple as restocking the fridge or the chip rack, other times it was helping prep the pizza dough by hand. Bobby Cal%u2019s has since closed and her father now works as a bus driver. Active as a child, she spent most of her time outside playing with siblings and cousins.
