MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 8047MOSTMAGAZINEQ: WHAT MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT CHRONIC ILLNESS DO YOU STILL SEE IN MEDIA TODAY, AND WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO CHANGE?A: There%u2019s still this idea that chronic illness has to be visible to be real. If you don%u2019t %u201clook sick,%u201d people assume you%u2019re fine. The media tends to focus on extremes: you%u2019re either a tragic figure or a miracle story. But most of us live in the messy middle%u2014in the grey. We%u2019re sick and still working. Still dating. Still making content. Still trying to figure it out.What%u2019s missing is the nuance. The everyday reality. Chronic illness can be inconsistent, invisible, and still valid. I want to see more real, honest stories%u2014ones that don%u2019t filter out the truth just to fit a neat narrative.Photo Credit: Freddy Merizalde
