InterviewExclusiveI always tell people to take risks and embrace opportunities because you never know where they%u2019ll lead. At the time, I had just graduated with a degree in Speech Language Pathology and was set on pursuing a career in that field. Then, out of the blue, I got a call about potentially joining WWE%u2019s hit reality series, Tough Enough. I had no idea what to expect, but I took the leap. I made it to second place but, more importantly, earned a WWE contract, and they also asked me to be on Total Divas, their other reality series. That opportunity completely changed my life, and the rest, as Q: What inspired you to become a WWE Superstar?1I didn%u2019t grow up watching wrestling religiously, but I was a big fan of The Rock and Hulk Hogan. It wasn%u2019t until later that I really started to admire the sport. When I saw Trish Stratus, I immediately connected with her. She had a fitness background like mine and made that seamless transition into WWE. I didn%u2019t have a wrestling background at the time, but I threw myself into the competition. Even though I didn%u2019t win, I impressed the right people, and it led to a full-time WWE contract. Shortly after, I joined the cast of Total Divas, and from there, my wrestling career really took off.Q: How did you first get into professional wrestling?3The training process was tough, to say the least. I had no prior wrestling experience, and professional wrestling is such a specialized craft that it takes years to master. However, I%u2019ve always been naturally athletic and grew up playing sports, so I adapted fairly quickly. But no matter how good you are athletically, wrestling is more than just physicality%u2014it%u2019s storytelling, technique, and performance, all rolled into one. It%u2019s been a journey, but I%u2019m constantly learning and improving.Q: What was your training process like when you first started?412 MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 54
