Q: What inspired you to venture into wildlife photography during your trip to South Africa?A: I%u2019m naturally drawn to capture images wherever I go, so taking these incredible images in South Africa was a no-brainer for me! The entire journey was an inspiration.Q: Can you describe a particularly memorable moment or encounter with wildlife during your trip?A: There were several, but two moments stand out. At Mala Mala, we encountered a mama leopard with her three, two-week-old cubs that had just finished eating their very first solid meal, an impala. Watching them climb down from a 15-foot tall tree to perch on a sand hill afterward and gaze at us was incredible. The other moment was in Botswana, where we witnessed a male and female lion in their courtship. It was peaceful and inspiring to see them together.Q: How has your artistic vision evolved since incorporating wildlife photography into your portfolio?A: I see things differently now! The experience made me want to take my camera everywhere. Even at my Mom%u2019s home in Seattle, I found myself snapping images of her Japanese maple tree with the sun peeking through.98 MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 48
