BLACK LIQUID INK%u201cThe artist must absolutely maintain control of his creation.%u201dWe have often heard the phrase that AI can be a tool and can add to rather than replace our creativity. S%u00e9bastien of Black Liquid Ink displays how true that is through his multi-layered inventions utilizing both his own photography and AI tools. MOST Magazine had the pleasure of chatting with S%u00e9bastien about his process and inspiration and how he creates pieces that invite contemplation and evoke the human spirit.%u201cFor me, art means human works intended to touch the senses and emotions of the public. AI does not do that, which is the significant difference between Conceptual Art and AI. The AI executes a task simply to obtain a quality image, but without that extra human element. This is why I use a parsimony tool. The artist must absolutely maintain control of his creation. I make all my creations with Photoshop and Lightroom, and I have fun mixing multiple images using these apps for blending, pasting, retouching, and editing. The textures and patterns generally come from my own photos, but I also glean some from royalty-free sites. AI allows me to obtain blank faces that I add according to my moods. To summarize, I use a whole range of processes and applications to obtain these beautiful results. I try everything, but always make sure my own touch remains present.%u201dMOST Magazine: How did you get started?%u201cI told myself about ten years ago that it was time for me to create my own creations, and that I had a place in the art world. I did not know how yet, but I knew that I especially wanted my art to be original and different from what we typically see. Photoshop was the digital software that truly opened my mind; I had found my medium for creation.%u201dMOST Magazine: How exactly do you design these magnificent images? %u201cMy process typically involves taking photos with a phone. My inspiration first came to me at my workplace, which is an industrial site. I take photos of structures, rusty textures, and cracked paint. I then mix with a beautiful woman%u2019s face, flowers, or nature to create a sort of contrast.%u201dMOST Magazine: Do you plan to do this full time? %u201cIt%u2019s not my job, but rather just a leisure activity. In five years, I don%u2019t know, maybe I%u2019ll reinvent my art or take other paths; I%u2019m curious, and I don%u2019t forbid myself anything. I want to discover all the possibilities that life can offer to me.%u201dINSTAGRAM@BLACKLIQUIDINKVISUAL DARK AND NEO-ROMANTIC ARTBY: MEYRIGNAC S%u00c9BASTIEN24 MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 45
