Q: What initially drew you to the world of fitness and bodybuilding?I began lifting weights when I was 15 to increase my upper body strength for Gymnastics. I fell in love with weight lifting, and it became a lifelong passion that led to competing in the IFBB Federation as a Bikini Pro Athlete. Q: What sets your fitness business apart from others in the industry?I%u2019m in a fortunate position when I do not rely on my Fitness Business as my main source of income, so there is no pressure for me to compare or compete with other businesses. My business has grown organically, and my focus is to enjoy the process of working with my clients.Q: Can you tell us about the journey from your initial idea to launching your business?From a very young age I loved Fashion, which led me to get a degree in Fashion & Design. I worked as a Designer in London for one of the largest privately owned Fashion Houses in London. In my home country, Zimbabwe I was the designer for a lot of wealthy Socialites; our President, his wife, deputy Prime Minister & his wife. My two passions evolved into my business of Fashion & Fitness%u2026 Because I have always done what I love to do, I can honestly say I don%u2019t feel like I have ever worked a day in my life.Q: How do you handle setbacks or challenges in your fitness journey?Every set back is an opportunity to regroup & move forward. very challenge is an opportunity to learn & progress.Q: What%u2019s the most challenging aspect of being a competitive fitness athlete?For me, it%u2019s reducing calories to get into ketosis and drop weight. Being hungry reminds me of the tough times I went through in Africa when I had to go hungry because we had nothing at all to eat, not even a piece of dry bread. I used to suck on mud to ease my hunger cramps or curl up in a ball. Going hungry by choice when my cupboards & fridge are full of food is really hard, it takes the next level of Mental, Physical & Emotional discipline for me to follow through day in and day out!MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 44 23
