Q: Are there any particular themes or messages you aim to convey through your music?Music has always been the soundtrack to my life. There is always music playing in the background for whatever I am doing. I am working on an album right now, and I think the main message is how we can take the pain and transform it into our power. It is about how important it is to not be scared, to listen to your heart, to take the leap of faith, live in the moment, and overcome your fears, because on the other side of fear is freedom. Be the author of your journey and always keep the fire inside us burning as high as possible. Try not to tame it because that is what guides the soul; that fire is what keeps us alive and young, and that fire is why we are here.Q: How does fashion influence your music and vice versaI think music influences the way I dress more on stage! My go-to was already pretty much a black leather jacket which is powerful and because rock and roll will never go out of fashion.Q: What song/songs do you sing the most for your newborn? He has this favorite song to fall asleep to: Cannons - Golden.Q: Who are your favorite artists or DJs?Of course Markus Schulz :) I also love the Weekend, Tyla, and Emma Hewitt, who is also a very good friend, 4 strings, etc.Q: What role do you think social media plays in the success of artists today, and how do you navigate it?I think social media is a very important tool, especially if you know how to use it correctly to your advantage and not let it work to your disadvantage. We live in a world where social media projects a reality that basically doesn%u2019t exist in real life, but it is also a great tool of inspiration. Now you can create reels with songs that can go viral and reach people who would not even be interested in your music! Everything shifts online, even the TV stations, radio stations etc. Music is being sold digitally now. Streams are the most important. Just let it work in your favor and it%u2019s a win-win.Q: Can you tell us about any upcoming projects or collaborations you%u2019re excited about?Working on my album at the moment and super excited to go back for the summer in my country, Romania, to work in the studio with some of my best friends, writers and producers and just create magic.Q: How do you balance your career as a musician with other aspects of your life?I feel that right now it%u2019s very balanced. Since I became a mom, I don%u2019t travel as much anymore as I used to. I used to fly 3%u20134 times a week, always in a different city, different country, different territory. Now I embrace this stage, and I am taking it all in because I know these years are going to fly by so fast. It also gives me so much more time to just write and create and work on music. When I was constantly on tour, I didn%u2019t even have that much time to gather my thoughts or find enough time to look deep into my soul and start searching for a deeper meaning that I am sure you%u2019ll find in the album that I am working on right now.Q: Looking back at your career so far, what%u2019s been the most unexpected or surprising moment for you?The best moments are when you write a song and it is number 1. I had that dream come true pretty much at the start of my career. I think the most unexpected moment was when I was on stage for NYE singing and all of a sudden the sound got cut off and Markus came on stage and proposed to me.Q: What is on the horizon for you in the next 2%u20133 years? All I know is that I am going to continue fulfilling my purpose, listening to my heart and soul, creating songs that hopefully heal and inspire as many people as possible and just staying true to why I came here. Of course I will always be trying to be the best mom for Liam, best wife for Markus, best artist and manager, and best daughter and friend to all the close ones in my life.42 MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 42
