Milan, NY, Santiago Alexandra ParasQ: What does AI-generated product photography mean to you?AI-generated product photography represents a groundbreaking shift in how we approach visual content creation. To me, it signifies the democratisation of high-quality imagery, making it accessible and affordable for businesses of all sizes. It%u2019s a blend of technology and art, where the boundaries of creativity are constantly being expanded by what%u2019s programmable.Q: What is your technical background? I have always been a creative person from when I was young. I took up drawing, photography, did art for A levels and then went into Digital Media Bachelor%u2019s Degree. Q: What made you decide to produce AI images? How I started getting into AI imagery is actually quite a sad origins story if I%u2019m being honest. The shortest version is that my dad died in August 2022 and I simultaneously found out my mom%u2019s cancer had come back and furthermore she was diagnosed with Dementia. There were a few other tragedies/revelations but those are still too much for me to share. My world imploded and no matter what I did, it was impossible for me to snap out of the darkness. But one day, I was scrolling on Instagram, as you do, and I kept on seeing these fascinating images with a hashtag that accompanied them (#Midjourney). I was intrigued enough to go down the google rabbit hole. Before I knew it, I signed up and started prompt- ing right away. I%u2019ve been doing it ever since. And because of it, I slowly started emerging from the dark. Q: How has AI affected your photography business? I personally don%u2019t have a photography business. This is just a hobby for right now. If it morphs into something then great.Q: Do you consider AI created images to be real photography?AI-created images embody a new form of photography. While they may not fit the traditional definition, they represent a new artistic medium that extends the principles of photography into the digital realm. They challenge us to reconsider what photography can be in the age of artifi- cial intelligence.Q: Will anyone notice you are using AI-generated images? What is one question that people ask the most when they comment on your images?I will always say that the images I share were done using AI. It%u2019s also in my profile. I believe those of us that use this as a medium and then share it on social media have a responsibility to always say %u2018this is not real%u2019%u2019Exclusive Interview48 MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 41
