JULIA REILLYRISING STAR AND ELECTRIFYING ACTRESS Julia Reilly%u2019s story begins just north of Atlanta, Georgia, with her family and her two elderly yet distinguished dogs, Duke and Marley. A self-proclaimed perfectionist, her earliest memories are a steady stream of dance rehearsals and auditions. Demonstrating a %u201chard work pays off%u201d school of thought, Julia would end each evening staying up late to tackle her studies and completing homework for the following day. A strong work ethic is a common thread to pull on as MOST Magazine spends time getting to know this talented young actress and the promising career that lays ahead. At just seven years of age, a star is born as Julia portrays JoJo, in the colorful and fantastical school play Seussical Jr. In addition to all the musical numbers, this young ingenu not only masters her own lines but everyone else%u2019s as well. Too young yet to realize that acting could be a viable vocation, she simply embraces the experience with the sheer joy of doing something for fun and loving every minute. Her early acting works include a leading role in the 2022 independent film, God of Dreams, written and directed by Jurian Isabelle. In this film Julia plays Ket, who along with a group of young outliers, work together to change the course of their future. With its small crew and relaxed environment, Ms. Reilly found the independent film experience both rare and special. %u201cIt felt like a very safe space to explore and create,%u201d she remarks of her time on set. With fond memories, she looks forward to exploring more films that provide the kind of energy Jurian was able to create while making this film. With several roles under her belt and auditioning for new projects, the industry at large pressed pause, as the Writers Guild of America and the American actors%u2019 union, SAG-AFTRA, went on strike. Although Ms. Reilly was not working during the duration of the actors%u2019 strike from July to November, she understood that this was a tumultuous time for both enterprises that %u201crequired patience and support.%u201d The actress used this time to complete extra sessions with her acting coach and update the tools her representation needed to submit her for work when the strikes eventually concluded. After months of negotiations, both strikes were soon resolved and Hollywood went back to work. Bringing her special brand of hard work to each new audition, MOST Magazine spoke to Julia about the toll this business can take on the mental health and wellness of an actor. Her approach to rejection is a nuanced one, remembering, %u201cI%u2019m in it for the long haul, and there is no short race element to this career path.%u201d She recognizes that if opportunities are meant for her, she will secure them. %u201cBeing happy, supportive and encouraging fellow actors gives me the confidence that I will see another audition.%u201d She goes on to say, %u201cleaving the audition once it%u2019s done, I like to throw my physical sides away immediately after.%u201d This mindset symbolizes the %u201cletting go of it all%u201d for Julia, which is a healthy approach to have in this industry. Julia attributes time spent away from the industry with family, friends, and activities as positive steps to keep her grounded and balanced.BEST KNOWN FOR HER ROLE AS %u201cTAMMY THOMPSON%u201d IN THE FOURTH SEASON OF NETFLIX%u2019S HIT SERIES %u201cSTRANGER THINGS%u201d &THE ORIGINAL ACTION-ADVENTURE MEDICAL DRAMA SERIES, %u201cCOUNTY RESCUE%u201d ON GREAT AMERICAN FAMILYMOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 41 23
