In the 1920s, he went to Paris and beganinteracting with artists such as Pablo Picasso, Ren%u00e9Magritte and Mir%u00f3, which led to Dal%u00ed%u2019s first Surrealist phase. He is perhaps best known for his 1931 painting ThePersistence of Memory, showing melting clocks in a landscape setting.
