W WHAT GEAR DO YOU USE?I invested in a Canon EOS R5 mirrorless body, with three types of lenses.A Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM wide-angle lens, for landscape photography.A Sigma MACRO 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens, for macroscopic photography and portrait photography.A Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 telephoto lens, for wildlife photography and sports photography.W HAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A SUCCESSFUL PHOTOGRAPHER?We are covering here everything beyond technical skills and equipment.Here are the characteristics that I think are essential to being a good photographer, even if I don%u2019t claim to be one. It is always possible to progress!1. Passion %u2013 This is what continually drives me to be inspired to learn and improve the quality of my work;2. Creativity %u2013 Mastering composition, lighting and storytelling so that each of my creations can tell a story to the viewer;3. Curiosity %u2013 I%u2019m always looking for new inspiration. I explore different genres and constantly push the boundaries of my own creativityAnd I will also add:4. Patience;5. Adaptability to different environments, subjects and styles;6. Attention to details such as small nuances in lighting, composition and environment;7. Communication skills, to understand customer needs, give clear direction to topics and articulate the creative vision.W HAT DETAILS DO YOU ENJOY FOCUSING ON IN YOUR WORK?I mainly focus on the creative aspects, because that%u2019s what will make my work unique and beautiful, at least I hope.Some people sometimes say that you need to have a photographer%u2019s eye. This means focusing on a lot of things at the same time!This includes both composition, lighting, perspective, color palette, focus, timing, negative space, texture and details, post-processing, and most importantly the story that I want to tell.W HICH PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS HAVE INFLUENCED YOUR WORK?To name just three, I would say Robert Doisneau and Henri Cartier-Bresson, French photographers, for their way of telling a story. And David Hamilton, an English photographer, for the gentleness that emerges from his portraits.But these are only three examples among many others that deserve to be cited.W HAT WORK ENVIRONMENT DO YOU ENJOY MOST AS A PHOTOGRAPHER (STUDIO OR OUTDOOR)?Clearly outdoors. This allows me to use natural light.And there are so many outdoor subject possibilities: landscape, portrait, macro photography, wildlife photography, and so on %u2026W HERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN TWO YEARS?I don%u2019t know anything about it at all and I don%u2019t even want to predict it.The important thing for me is to live in the present moment, to satisfy my curiosity by learning more and more to progress and participate in ever more unexpected and innovative projects.50 MOST MAGAZINE - ISSUE 39
