www.MOSTmag.com || FASHION MAG A ZINE || 61Tell us about the Smith Entertainment Group. How it came to be and what you hope to accomplish with this endeavor? SEG came together because of Kenny and my creative minds constantly going. We realized through the success of projects & events over 11 years of marriage and a meeting with David Eilendberg (ITV) that we had something that was worth pursuing. I%u2019d love to accomplish creating more culturally blended television that has a more of a positive influence in the television world. I%u2019d also like for it to lead to my next job on television as a host. What projects is SEG currently working on or promoting? What%u2019s the dream for this labor of love? I had a meeting at OWN which was very exciting. The thought of working with Oprah, who I have so much respect for and admiration of, would be a dream come true and a perfect fit. Many will look at your story and find it empowering. A European transplant; single parent; dream chaser; successful 11 year run on a popular television show and now embarking on a bright new chapter. What do you say to those who have met with adversity along the way and are looking for just the right encouragement to keep striving?I%u2019d say learn to love yourself first, all of your individuality. Learn your individual strengths and weaknesses. Figure out which parts and characteristics about yourself that you love. When you know weaknesses learn how to work your best in the world despite your weak areas. Know that there is only one you and you are enough. Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams and work hard.especially in the runway world, I felt I would be able to provide for my daughter as a parent with modeling. I have to thank Runways The Talent Group in Miami Beach for believing in me and making sure I had work. Once I realized the modeling world was a business I was able to stay prepared and always be ready for my next job.How long were you in Los Angeles before landing the job on The Price is Right? What was that first show like? Three years. The first show was very anxiety ridden. I was relying on my smile to get me through. LolWe would be remised if we did not ask you to weigh in on this latest iteration of the perils of the %u201ccasting couch.%u201d Your thoughts? How do we begin to address these difficult issues when the lines have become so clearly blurred? It was very brave for all the women to come forward. I hope their courage will help others in some way that have gone through the same thing. I would say to all women that you are in control of your own destiny and you should never allow a moment to overpower your own ethics, moral, and decision making. Be aware and honest about what is going on. Don%u2019t ever live in fear. Find a way to remain dignified. Were you a fan of basketball before you met your husband Kenny Smith? Rather than ask the tried and true %u201chow do you maintain your relationship in Hollywood,%u201d we would rather ask how your parenting style complement each other, particularly in your blended families. What do you find most rewarding about being a mother to 5 children?%u00a0%u00a0No, I wasn%u2019t a fan of basketball before I met Kenny, but I have major respect for athletes and their work. The most rewarding part of being a Mum to 5 is the LOVE%u2026the love that is given, the love amongst each other and seeing all the kids grow and share with each other is a huge compliment in itself.
