Not too surprising, Carla participated in basketball and track. As much as she enjoyed track (basketball was not her cup of tea), Carla was not passionate about running. She continued running with friends long after school, until her husband introduced her to Bikram yoga. Carla had previously tried and enjoyed chi running, a meditated form of running. And she had to ask; can I meditate and exercise at the same time? As soon as she tried Bikram she fell in love with the structure, the 26 poses, the ability to watch your improvement right before your eyes. %u201cWhen I meditate and I%u2019m breathing I%u2019m doing better at my job and I%u2019m more present. I think about what I%u2019m going to eat, if I don%u2019t eat right classes will be harder.%u201d Carla told us that she was more mindful throughout the entire day, and this made her realize there would be no other workout for her. Every time she visits a new city one of the first things she does is look for a Bikram class.
