Lights, camera, magic! Canadian actress Cecilia Deacon is stepping into an exciting new chapter with Coven Academy, a supernatural series streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. Set in the haunted heart of New Orleans, the series follows teenage witches and warlocks at an elite boarding school where dark secrets, dangerous powers, and forbidden attractions collide.
Deacon portrays Mary, whose mysterious death sets the story in motion, sending Briar, played by Malina Pauli Weissman (A Series of Unfortunate Events), to Crescent Veil boarding school. Helmed by Tim Federle, known for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, the series features an ensemble cast including Devon Sawa, Tiffani Thiessen, and Malachi Barton.
A graduate of New York’s American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Deacon has built a versatile career spanning television, film, theatre, and modeling. Her screen credits include Charmed, Riverdale, Nancy Drew, Altered Carbon, and Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart, along with the films A Timeless Christmas and The Love Heist. She has also modeled for renowned beauty brands including L’Oréal, Redken, and Cetaphil.
